What’s changing?

Discovery Life is extending its shared-value proposition to more clients. The announcement states that clients on Essential Life Plans and Core Integration can now receive PayBacks of up to 50%, subject to qualification. This is a maximum stated benefit, not a guaranteed reward for every policyholder.

The changes also affect existing policyholders. Discovery reports that more than 105,000 current clients could access PayBack through qualifying servicing. Being an existing client does not automatically confirm eligibility: the policy and any required changes need to be reviewed.

Eligible Health-integrated clients may also benefit from a Personalised PayBack Booster. The launch summary describes this as increasing PayBack to the applicable maximum in months when clients complete personalised health actions and close their health ring. The underlying policy and programme rules determine how this applies.

Discovery Life has also announced a Fixed 0%/0% funding pattern and updates to AcceleRater and FlexRater. These options relate to how premiums are structured over time. The launch summary does not set out the full calculations or long-term premium illustrations, so a comparison should use the official product information and a personalised quotation.

A review should consider the level of protection, current affordability, future premium changes and the requirements for any rewards. It should also clarify whether accessing a new benefit would require changes to existing cover and what those changes would mean for the policyholder.

Who is this relevant to?

Existing Discovery Life clients considering a policy review and people assessing new life cover, particularly where the announced integration and PayBack options may be relevant.

Your next step

Speak to your Cherokee Wealth adviser about your existing policy and protection needs. Ask for confirmation of PayBack eligibility and a clear comparison of premiums and benefits before agreeing to any servicing or new cover.

Important details

PayBacks depend on qualifying policy, integration and behavioural requirements and are not guaranteed. “Up to 50%” is a maximum, not an entitlement. Confirm any servicing requirements, underwriting implications and premium changes against the official policy documents. The funding-pattern names alone do not describe every future premium change.
